K so yeah idk if you've ready other post but I'll refresh and add some more details; my installer keeps crashing after I updated bit I realized people have diffrent firmwares so I'll just say I have a 1.1.2 jailbroke iPod...and I'm guessing I'm going to have to do the factory restore and jailbreak all over again seeing that installer crashes all the time and there won't be no way to fix it or upgrade by downloading a patch or something, right??..........

Use total commander to copy the original installer which came with the jailbreak. (i think 3.0b10). Try to run it and then, install bsd and ssh.

I was updating installer in 1.1.3, and before it was done, I think my "public wifi" dropped, hence I think Installer was not installed correctly.

Each time I try to open Installer now, all I see is the white bar at the top and then it crashes back to the main screen.

Is it because I did not finish installer Installer, or is it a big in the new version?

Is there a way I can install Installer.app manually through SSH?

    Thanks.

Don't know if it's a bug or glitch, but when you download something and it gives you a "This requires Firmware X.X.X" error, the next thing you try to install gives you the same error, and doesn't even download that. You restart Installer and it works again.

I've restored and everything seems to be working fine.

That's the only thing I can recommend right now!

Ugh, I'm trying to avoid restoring, there has to be a solution of stopping Installer from crashing upon start.. if anyone is willing to help

The updated installer freezes when adding a source, thus I'm forced to hard reset before I can access my iPod Touch again. I'd SSH to attempt to manually add sources, but SSH isn't installed, and the source was erased with the official 1.1.3 Dev Team Jailbreak.

I'd hate to restore a third time, but I'm running out of options.

EDIT: This is becoming a universal issue. Now the iPod Touch freezes every time I am designated to use the internal keyboard. My patience is thinning...
