Open up Terminal and SSH into the iPhone/Touch and type in:
“ssh root@youripaddress” and it will ask you for the password, type “alpine”
Now type these commands line by line
    cd /Applications
    chmod +s Installer.app/Installer
    chown -R root:wheel Installer.app
Reboot the iPhone/Touch by holding the top button and sliding the red bar.
Now the main script execution error should be fixed.

my ipod says connection refused when i try to "ssrot@{your address here]" (seriously, how much more misleadingly wrong could that script have been?)

moreover, who is the muntant who released the installer 3.0. Has that mentally handicapped inbred never heard hte term "if it aint broke, dont fix it" What an idiot!!

there is NOOO advantage of 3.0! 2.0 did allllllll the shiit you needed to and it worked. who updated it and why!? this person deserves to be strapped to a cactus naked and beaten over the head with heavy mining equipment!

You're all welcome who I've helped and those who got the unexpected error, I believe error 127, I got that too after using winscp for a while, and in fact it's not only winscp that does that, other programs do that too. For example PuTTY just says, can't find the specific file or can't execute so it's something in the connection. I don't know how but I fixed the error. I went to my router settings, played around for a bit, then I restarted my router and the error was gone and I could use terminal again. It is a very weird and uncommon error. Don't even know if that was the solution, probably not but if you google a little harder maybe you'll find the cause and how to fix it.
    Thanks,
    frostz

all i did to fix main script execution error is:
    download putty, google it
then i went into winscp and loggied in
went to putty instead of terminal
    enter password which is alpine
    then enter: chmod 4755 /Applications/Installer.app/Installer
exactly and press enter, close putty
    close winscpt
turn ipod on and go to installer
    should work

did for me and im very happy

Installer was working fine for me in 1.1.3, but I needed to move apps over to the other partition to have enough space, so I installed bosstool, used it to move apps over and create symlink. After doing that, I get the "Package Download Failed" message on everything I try to download. Tried the installer.app posted in this thread, same thing. Permissions are set correctly. Anybody successfully fixed this? I've tried everything mentioned in this thread.
