I've got a far few updates for my mac that i got for my birthday (26th May)

    Running OSX 10.5.6
And theres a new update for me 10.5.7

When i got my ipod touch for christmas 08 and downloaded 2.2
(I Was currently on 2.1) it was like 600mb aprox.
Then 2.2.1 came out and it was another pile of download.

I'm on a 15gb limit and it gets blown every month, what i'd like to point out is the apple updates are huge to me.

    10.5.7 is 449mb :\

I Know i'm a bit of a rantist but i come from windows and linux with update from about Couple of Kb's - 60mb

Service packs dont bother me too much.

Most linux distros release a whole new distro version every six months, i ususally skipped a few versions (Still on ubuntu 8.04 and linux mint 6)

I'd just like to point out from a mac newbies view why so big updates for regular ones?

Meh, i have to get used to this OS

10.5.7 fixes the DFU-mode issue, among other, non iPod things. Also, there was no 2.2 update for the iPod touch 2G, as you claim to have, just 2.2.1. There has been no update for the iPod that was 600MB.
