Yesterday, i started the Boot Camp process on my mac, running OS X Leopard.

For those who don't know, Boot Camp is an application that means you can run windows on your mac, and for me, this is very helpful cos i use alot of applications that only come for windows.

Anyway, somewhere along the line, there was a problem and i couldnt continue. I went to the apple site and browsed the support section, and no luck. I re-tried about 5 times and then decided it as time to call "The Apple Helpline".

The automated voice came up, "press 1 for Iphone related issues, 2 for an ipod, and 3 for a computer". I hit 3. The voice said the estimated time to get hold of someone was 5 minutes or less. 23 minutes later, and nothings happening. 25 minutes later, and the line randomly goes dead. Call it again, hit 3, now she says Eight minutes or less.

about 15-20 minutes later i'm put through to someone. "Finally!" i gasp.

The guy on the other end of the telephone line goes, "so, your calling about an iPhone, right?" So i say, "No, i pressed 3, I want to talk to a guy about computers." he says "Sorry, mate, they've put you through to the iPhone department but if you give me your serial number, i can put you through".

After about 5 minutes of arguing whever a B is a P or not, and him blatantly wasting my time and money, he says,"Ok, so your gonna be put into the que" and without time for me to protest, and say ive been in a que for 40 mins already, i hear some stupid holding music.

About 5 mins later, the same guy picks up, and says "Aw, Im sorry Mate but all the computer specialists left about minute ago, you JUST missed them. Sorry, better luck next time" and the phone went dead.

I mean, WTF??? Thats just ridiculous, AND its gonna have cost about 35 quid as it took so long.

    SCREW YOU, APPLE!

Jesus how much do they charge per minute?

I thought 10-20p/min was the going rate.

By your reckoning, they're charging about 50p a minute!

Anyway, these so called 'help' lines totally take the pi55. I refuse to call them. Just use google, lol.

Wow that sucks. I've noticed their email support is much better. They said I would get a reply in 48 hours and I got one in about 2 hours.

As the car talk guys would say...

    "BOAT PAYMENT!"

I've not called for support since sometime in the 80s. I'd try googling for your problem, you can probably find 100000 free answers.

First of all, yes, that IS bad. Phone support is bad from every major company. Apple is growing in popularity so, no surprise there.

But okay, so you spent an hour (maybe an hour and a half?) on phone support. That is not much compared to some people.

I spent 2 hours on phone support at least twice, and I have been on phone support at least 5 other times for like 45 minutes. Note, I have only purchased my first iMac for three months (and yes, my calls were free, which is nicer than you paying).

And I have never even tried Bootcamp or anything moderately complicated and yet, so many problems. I have sent my computer to Apple as well because the Power Supply blew up, go figure. Their repair support is even worse..

I don't know, I probably had a defective computer to begin with, seeing as after the repair, it has been perfect, but yeah, Apple kind of sucks.

Hopefully you won't have to call them again. And hopefully nobody else has to as well.

A HAHAHA. I don't think very many on this forum will get that reference. Kudos for that.
