The iPod touch has 256 MB of RAM, right? Using SBSettings, I see that when idling on my homepage, wifi on, that on average I have 115 to 130 MB of free RAM, which struck me as a little odd. iOS really uses that much RAM?
How much free RAM do you generally have?

Yea, the iOS uses RAM so you're only left with a certain amount. I have 155MB free.

Just used SBSetting's "FREE MEMORY" button and now I'm up to 170 free! What did SBS do?

With no apps open, I hover around 160-170. With my usual workload (pandora radio + safari) its usualy between 90 and 120.

    3rd gen ipod 3g 32gb

    i hover around 120-160

but when its rly app intensive... it can go to like 30-50

it doesn't matter because the 3rd gen has enough ram to handle itself so don't worry about it

I wonder what the iPhone 4 gets with general usage... (I know it has 512MB of RAM.)

My phone usually hovers around 30MB of free RAM. Sad, I know. And iOS 4 is a battery hog on my iPhone 3G.
