I spilled quite a bit of water on it, at first I thought it was ok, but i went to safari to try to Google what i should do, and the screen rapidly began going white, so naturally i make it sleep then wake it again, and everything was fine, then a few moments later it begins going white again. and then it stayed white after i woke it up again. so i remember reading that electrical devices could withstand water pretty well if they were powered completely off. so i held the sleep button down for about 10 seconds, then i slid my finger right where the power slider would pop-up, and the screen went black. I pressed the home button to make sure it didn't just fall back asleep. I left it alone for a couple of hours to let the water evaporate, and it just didn't turn on

Not even itunes would recognize it now, so I'm pronouncing it DEAD.

tl;dr - I spilled water onto my ipod and it died.

Sure some people would get extremely mad, and suicide their iPTF account, but i recently bought a playstation 3 on black friday and im extremely happy with that

. although that left me with only $90, and not enough for a.. replacement ipod touch. but of course im expecting much money for Christmas. So should I just buy another one? or do you technical people know some magical way to revive my ipod?

Shouldn't have used your iPod at all when you spelled water on it. But I would say get a new iPod, there so much fun. Unless of course your alittle bored of it (Don't see how you could though). If you are bored, might want to check out a Zune HD, but iPod Touches will always win!

I'd say the Zune HD, honestly....

    It is pretty freaking awesome.

The downfall of the Zune is that it has almost no apps. Although the ZunePass is pretty cool, apps ,IMO, make the iPod Touch better.

Put it in a ziplock bag of uncooked rice next time something gets wet.

I'll agree that the HD needs apps.

However, i like microsofts approach; quality over quantity.

That said, the HD needs more quality apps.

i'd rather get another ipod than zune. anyway... i just had a dream that my ipod turned on after holding the home and sleep button together.. and that didnt work when i woke up :/

and after running through a scenario of me buying a new ipod at wal-mart, i questioned myself if i would pay for warranty or not, then i remembered my mom bought a 3 year warranty for my dead ipod, so im gonna see what best buy thinks of this...
