    ok how do i use an image as a button for a quicktime movie. i dont mean

    HTML:
    <a href="movie.mov"><img src="button.gif"></a>
    I want it so it works on the ipod.

    HTML:
    		<OBJECT classid='clsid:02BF25D5-8C17-4B23-BC80-D3488ABDDC6B' codebase='http://www.apple.com/qtactivex/qtplugin.cab'>
    		<param name='src' value="movie.mp4">
    		<param name='autoplay' value="true">

    		<param name='controller' value="true">
    		<param name='loop' value="false">
    on the ipod it comes up with an ugly default button from quicktime.
    I want to use my own button.. how would i do this? is there an attribute for an object to have an image play button? Thanks for the help

    EX. justinledelson.com.... click on a movie and it shows the default quicktime play button..

    <object> doesn't do anything good on a touch (it's used for IE)
    <embed> is the way to go.

    many folk use them together.

    the best way to handle movies is to dynamically generate the best html for the browser in question.

    although this page might be too tricky for you... it was written to handle all browser and all platforms.

    it's a lot of javaScript code!
    it's not done with simple html.

    for that you would make a little page with embed and object tags nested together. or just use <a href="movie.mov"><img src="button.gif"></a>
