    From what I understand,

Quickpwn is used to jailbreak un-jailbroken touch/phones, without having to restore.

Pwnage Tool- You can create custom firmware and restore with iTunes.

    Is that correct?

    My question:

Quickpwn requires that you upgrade to the desired firmware you want broken but I don't want to lose all my apps.

Is there a way to upgrade a jailbroken touch without having to upgrade legitimately?

I hope I worded that right

yaa you can ... there's an app on cydia that backs up all your apps so you can just re download them (its a pain in the ass i know but its more effective =D)

thats not what he was asking IMO.

you cant upgrade to a new firmware and jailbreak it without losing your apps.
there are ways to backup your apps tho such as the the program in cydia called 'aptbackup' i believe its called. It will only create a list of your apps and reinstall them after you jb it and restore from a backup on itunes. It wont save the actuall app or their settings. Or you could just ssh and back up like that.
