I'm trying to jailbreak a iPod touch 1G, so I downloaded Quickpwn but it keeps crashing on startup. Then, I downloaded ZiPhone but that crashes on start up too. I have the latest Microsoft net framework and iTunes 8.0. Help is appreciated.

What firmware? Try QuickPwn in Administrator Mode (Right click, run as admin), and ZiPhone is for 1.x.x only.

I'm using the custom firmware 2.2.1 and I'm on Windows XP.

OK, no ZiPhone, Right-Click quickpwn.exe, and (I don't have XP anymore) click Run as..., and pick the admin. Or, try compatibility mode or something, ask someone with XP

If you already have a custom firmware, why are you trying to use QuickPwn?

Oh, I didn't read that post thoroughly... are you sure you are on a CFW?

I'm on a custom firmware but it's not jailbroken and Quickpwn doesn't work. You can be on a custom firmware but not be jailbroken.

Be sure you have the .NET framework installed.

EDIT: Actually, you may have problems with QuickPwn since it's designed for use on the stock firmwares.
