Sorry if this has been asked before, but here's my problem:

When I browse for version 2.2.1 firmware using QuickFreedom, all I can find are 2 folders in the location of the downloaded frimware location. These folders being; .fseventsd and Firmware.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

put the IPSW on your desktop and just browse to it in the windows explorer window.

The file I downloaded is: iPod2,1_2.2.1_5H11a_Restore. There isn't a .ipsw extension - still confused

If it is about 250 mb then rename it to .ipsw and use it. If it is lower than 200 mb, then re download it from somewhere else.

It's 284MB. I tried renaming it with the .ipsw ext and QuickFreedom still can't see it. I've downloaded it twice - same result. I can see the 2 folders already mentioned from the downloaded file I didn't rename, but they're still useless to me.

Will download from somewhere else anyway and see if that works.

    Cheers

Did you download the firmware from the button in QuickFreedom? I am using QuickFreedom for the first time as well and everything went well.

Yes. Not sure it's got anything to do with the fact that the file type is a Winzip File. It just defaulted to that when it was downloaded as I'd expect with a zip file.
