    Hi!
I don't know a darn thing about mp3 players but I need one quick-like for a 30 hour flight coming up soon. So, my question is this: If I buy an iPod Touch, can I transfer all my existing mp3s from my computer hard drive to the Touch? These are not iTunes, just mp3s made by my musical friends. Or will they not even play on an iPod Touch? Thanks!

It's easy as pie! Just drag into the iTunes library and sync

iTunes is not a data format. iTunes can read and play MP3's just fine. Which means they WILL Sync to your device and play.

    !!!!

Oh my GOSH!! I asked this in 2 other forums but was left with the impression that you could only do that with an older, hackable player using R**kB*x for example. And when I searched the internet with "transfer from computer to iPod Touch" - there's nothing! So I was beginning to assume it was an impossibility. I guess there's no information out there because it's just a basic simple function that is a given, LOL! My goodness, I can't thank you enough for this. New iPods for all! (hehehe, yeah if I had the $$$)

you would just have top go into itunes>>file>>add file (or folder) to library

then choose your files and sync... i highly reccomend the touch butif you only going to use an mp3 player for this flight... $229 is quite a bit.

Yeah, just drag and drop the songs to iTunes then sync.
Might I suggest an iPod Nano if you're only using it for this one occasion. It's much cheaper.

If you're only planning on using this MP3 player for the flight, purchase an iPod shuffle.

It's much cheaper and much smaller.

^^no way. get an ipod touch. you will play with it on the plane and love it. download some free apps from itunes, put your music on there, sync it up and get down.
