Is it possible to get iphone to 'vet' calls? By this I mean if someone calls you and you have their number etc in contacts then you can answer it, otherwise the call will be dropped to voicemail (if you have it setup) or dropped all together? My other phones had this capability and personally I found it rather handy, you know insurance, double glazing etc just get dropped!!

    Many Thanks

    James

Yep, one of the myriad problems/lack of functionality with the iPhone. The only way to do this is using 3rd party software installed through Cydia/Icy on a jailbroken device...

I see. Is it going to be available with iPhone os3? Or do recommend the jailbreak route? Is it easy to do, and more importantly if it fails totally can it easily be restored through iTunes ?

From what I have seen you'll have to JB and go that route.

I looked a little in iTunes for an application for you but couldn't find much.

Search the forums ... QuickPwn for Windows did it for me in like 5 minutes.

It's now jailbroken and there is a myriad off apps that can do what I want. Looks like a jb iPhone is the device that it should be out of the box! Even installed ssh. I just hope there will be a in version 3 when that becomes available.
    Thanks for your help
