okay, lets say this: I JB my iPod on 2.2.1 and I reset my iPod, is it in DFU mode? Do I use something like this or boothelper to boot it? So it always boots in DFU mode from now on? Please help I am very confused on this right now.

To put your iPod into DFU mode do this:

Plug iPod into USB. Hold the power and home button for 10 seconds. Let go of power button, keep holding home. Hold home for 5 seconds. Let go of home. Then follow the instructions to boot your iPod.

Everytime yes. But not when you put it into standby (click the power button once), only when you turn your iPod off.
