what is the optimal size i shud encode my videos at (i use xilisoft converter)
to keep the video filesize as minimum..to save space on the touch.

and if you have any tips or suggestions while encoding correctly for the ipod touch..i only view it on the touch..dont use the tv so i guess i can save up the space by encoding it at a lower res?

    Thanks Again!

h.264 mp4, 480x320 (so that it's correct when you turn it sideways)

480x320 is the standard but, 640x480 works and looks better.
Both must be in MPEG-4(MP4) format.

Depending on the aspect ratio and if you want to stream it onto a TV:

    Most 16:9 - 700 x 400.

    Most 4:3 - 640 x 480

Most of the time, 480 x 272 (Widescreen) is fine if you're not streaming onto the television.

ok so i guess lower the resolution , lesser the space the encoded file would take? which mean 480x272 would be lesser than 700x400 without much loss of clarity
