This is a quick, simple guide for beginners. You might need this if:

    1. Cydia/Installer isn't working and you can't install winterboard.
    2. Winterboard may not be working (althought this is probably because you didn't make the theme correctly).
    3. You may only want to change the icons of specific apps.
    4. Your bored >.>

    Step one: SSH.
SSH into your iPod, if you don't know how to do this there are plently of great guides to help you.

    Step two: Locate the folder.
Find the folder that the files for the app you want to edit is in.

For apps that come with the firmware, such as music, videos, maps, etc., you'll find them in /<root>/Applications/.

For apps that you get from the App Store, you'll find them in /<root>/private/var/mobile/Applications/. The apps from the App Store are installed into folders with codes or something on them. For example, on my iPod the folder that holds Textfree is 20467433-7C5B-4233-92C6-7276A1424A71.

    Step three: Change the icon.
    Changing the icon is simple.

For apps that come with the firmware, find the file called "icon.png" and 1.Cut it to a backup folder (recommended) 2. Delete it. Then, copy your custom icon into the folder and name it icon.png.

For apps you buy from the App Store, simply click on the folder called "Your App.app" and follow the steps above.

    Additional information:

Installer and Cydia are considered "firmware apps" and are located in /<root>/Applications/.

All folders made in Categories are also in /<root>/Applications/.

Music and Videos are all located in MobileMusicPlayer.app and to change the icon, you have to rename the custom pics as follows:

    For Music: icon-AudioPlayer.png
    For Video: icon-VideoPlayer.png

Pictures is called MobileSlideShow.app and you need to rename your custom pic "icon-Photos.png". No quotes.

If you delete a file by accident you need to either restore your firmware or get it from a friend

This process takes a lonnngggg time if you have a lot of apps so if you can use Winterboard, best app ever
