I got an itouch on Tuesday and some friends asked me ifni was going to jailbreak it. Just some questions...

    Can I reverse it?
What are the pros and cons?
What apps will or won't work with it?
How safe is it (could it permanantly destroy my itouch?)

yes, I am a bit analytical so multiple views would be appreciated.
    I have a 2nd gen 16 gb itouch with 3.0 and a vista computer

    3. All apps work with it. You only gain with jailbreak, you don't loose.
    4. 100% you couldn't destroy your iPod touch unless you throw it off a building

    Thanks.
What would you reccomed to break it?

So far all I've seen is redsn0w. And for 4, could it stop working, not let me sync, etc.?

Use RedSn0w 0.7 to jailbreak it.

There will always be a way for iTunes to recognize your iPod.

redsn0w is the fastest and easiest. and its the official jailbreak.

    4:
You can always do a DFU restore, removing the jailbreak. Youll be fine.

since my mac experience has been 4 days, what's a DDT restore? Is it just the backup that iTunes makes?

DFU restore is putting your iPod back to the state it was in when you first bought it.
