    Hello,

I have 3.0 on my iPod touch 2nd Gen., and I have finally decided to jailbreak, but I've got a couple of questions.

    1. I read that it's good to do a restore before doing the jailbreak. After the jailbreak is done, can I restore a backup so I can get my game progress and such back while still keeping it jailbroken?

    2. I also have decided to get the battery percentage by using SSH. I am using some files I found on a different thread on this site. Is this the "official" batter meter? Because it creates the Usage setting in the General Setting.

    Thanks

    1. yes
    2. If you want numeric battery, just get SBSettings.

Does the Numeric Battery Percentage look exactly like and act like the official one found in the iPhone 3GS?

Exactly! I know that I can get that show up through some files with SSH, but is that also what shows up if you enable the battery percentage on SBSettings? I'm talking about including the Usage menu and stuff.

If you use SBSetting you can only get the percentage but not the usage menu. You'll probably have to ssh to get that.

That's what I wanted to know. Looks like I'm using SSH...which hopefully won't screw up my iPod touch, haha.

How do you SSH to see the Usage info?

    On this thread: http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=205810

Post #5 on that thread says you can do it with DiskAid, which I have, but I don't know how to do it, and I would feel safer doing it that way. Anyone know how to do get to get to the root thing with DiskAid?

Nevermind, I figured it out. In the lower left of DiskAid there's an option for Root Folder, then just follow the instructions in the .rar from my post right above this one. It worked great, and I now have the official battery meter with Usage menu!
