    Hi!
I am really new to jailbreaking and really exited about the possible jailbreak of the iPod Touch 2G codenamed redsn0w. However, I have a few questions, before I dare to jailbreak my iPod Touch:

    1) If the iPod Touch is jailbroken, can I still use the AppStore from Apple withit? Do Applications just run alongside? Can I still buy and download and use the applications from the AppStore?

    2) If something goes wrong while jailbreaking, is there any chance to restore the iPod? I will make a backup with iTunes for sure.

    3) When do you think the jailbreak is ready?

    4) Will there be problems when installing Firmware-Updates from Apple?

    5) Can you back up a jailbroken iPod Touch?

    Yours,

This sounds really great. But one more questions: You say there are no problems when installing firmware updates. But what does happen, when I install a firmware update on a jailbroken iPod Touch? Will the Applications + Jailbreak just be gone?

    Yours thankfully,

Im not to sure about that. I think when a new firmware comes out the dev team has to make a new update to the software that you use to jailbreak it. But I think when you update, it is no longer jailbroken.

When you update it is recommended to restore, which yes you will lose all your stuff, before you jailbreak.

Okay, thank you all very much. I searched a lot on the net (and in this forum), but these questions I asked were just the ones, where I have to be certain about the answers (I wouldn't dare jailbreak if it broke my 50€ invested in apps).

Is the iPod Touch 2G jailbreak for SW 2.2?
