why does your dad want you to buy the new iphone you cell phone service might not be able to handle a device with just 3g network

It is going to use the same 2.0 as any other iPhone/iPod touch device is going to use. Also, there will be much better apps with the AppStore.

It won't take long until any person can find a method to jailbreak the new iPhone. Just get the new one and try out some Free Apps from the AppStore until a Jailbreak method is found.

    Patience is the Key.

Well, Jailbreaking = Privilege Escalation. Which means you gain access to the entire device undeterred, you can do anything you want. Installer just provided a means to deliver the Apps.

AppStore and Installer will both provide you with apps, so you probably will never run out.
