As the title says, why is it better?
I mean my iPod works perfectly with the QuickFreedom jailbreak so, what are the upgrades?
    Thank you.

you can use logome and also it takes up less space and it is only flashing the nor so that makes it better too

What do you mean when you say: "flashing the nor"?
I am trying to figure out what 'nor' is for a few weeks now >.>

I've noticed a better response from my iPod when i wake it from its sleep. With quickfreedom it would "lag" momentarily before waking up. With redsn0w, it's instantaneous. Another advantage, if you would call it that, is that you can use logo me 2.2 with the 2G to change the boot logo.

The difference is obvious though. Quickfreedom creates an entirely new IPSW witch makes your format your entire iPod. Redsnow does not.

NOR is what contains the main boot system (things like boot logos). A NOR Flash is an upgrade that doesn't mess with your file system.

    I see.
So if I want to upgrade from my QuickFreedom jailbreak to redsn0w 3, do I need to restore first to the original firmware?

No dude. Just open the redsn0w.exe, it'll guide you. I used this version of redsn0w yesterday, I jailbroke with QuickFreedom before that. No restores involved.

Yeah, it's better to do a fresh jailbreak. You could backup your ipod first and then restore from it you want to keep your settings however.

For Cydia apps, download Aptback. It will make an automatic backup of the apps you have. Just make sure to read the instructions carefully.
