I have an Ipod Touch 2G with the old firmware. I believe its 2.1.1. If I get the new FW 3.0 will it erase the current jailbreak that I have on my ipod now? If this is the case is there any way that I can backup the jailbroken items and downloads?

Ughm.. If you do it *legally*, when you go to iTunes you'll notice the UPDATE button.

Press it, and it will legally obtain the 3.0 firmware file, and officially *UPDATE* the iPod, meaning it wont erase any data.

Your not shift+restoring to a downloaded 3.0 firmware.

When you do things legal, theyre usually better than the illegal way.
