What exactly is that, and can it be dangerous if I activate it while I am using illegal applications? Since when I started it, it said "Sending information to apple" or something like that and turned it off right away.
    Thanks.

Genius is a clever program that will link your music to other tracks that you own or may be interested in buying on the iTunes Store. It will scan through all of your tracks, and also tracks that you play and show them on the Sidebar (if it's switched on).

It has it's good and bad points, a good one being if you're stuck for a track, stick it on shuffle then if you like the sound stick Genius on and it will pick similar tracks for you.

Ok, does it tell apple which applications do I have?

As far as I know, Genius is just for Music, not Apps. Your Jailbroken iPod Touch is already waived from Warranty, so it would make no difference eh?!
