    Okay..
I had enough i'm f***ing paranoid about paying phone bills for internet...
I asked so many question through threads.. More questions keep popping up cause I get more information.. wether it's rumors or not.. i'm f***ing paranoid. So I have to clear this out.

    Okay.. so.
My question is (hopefully my final question)

If I turn off EDGE on my iPhone first generation, and connect to Wifi. When I loose my wifi connection will it automatically connect to EDGE from my service provider (Fido, Canadian) even though it's turned off in Settings?

I do NOT have a data plan, I use Fido (canadian service).

I will be buying Iphone (first gen) tonight.. please answer this i'm frikken paranoid.

if u have signal; data is coming into ur phone via GSM... which is still data. call fido and ask them to shut off data for you like t-mobile; they auto shut off data and dont have a pay per acess kidna thing.

    Are you sure about that?

I actually went along today to get the iPhone...
And it's connected to EDGE, it even has the EDGE logo on the top left corner.. But I can't use it. Like when I go to weather or safari, it says not connected to EDGE. Because I dont have the APN username, and password. It's still says EDGE on top left. Roaming data is off. I use wi-fi are you sure I will be charged?
