I was not a registered dev when 2.0 was being released, but I've read many posts saying devs get 3.0 for free, the full released version. How does this work, is it just seeded to us at the apple developer website?

We get the beta free, and I heard that we get 3.0 official for free as well. Don't quote me on it though.

When 3.0 is released, iTunes will simply notice that you have 3.0 (albeit, a different build) and will offer you the final 3.0 as an upgrade.

Just a heads up to all those with iphones who got the 3.0 software. When the new beta comes out for us your phones will get the nasty red screen of death until you can get the newest beta.
