I am looking to upgrade my ipod in a few months. Right now I have a 4gb first gen nano and I am wanting to get the 32gb touch (or possible 64gb if they make it and drop the pricing a little

). Anyways, I have been trying to get my iTunes library prepared so that when I do buy it, everything I want will be ready.

I don't have video on my nano, so I had a question: If the video is loaded into my itunes and shows up, does that mean it will play on my touch? I know that probably sounds dumb, but I just wanted to check. I've tried several video converters and I found one for the iPhone, so I assumed that it would be the correct size for the touch.

So I guess I just wanted to make sure that if it shows up in my itunes library that it will play. Thanks!

iPhone and iPod Touch share the same screen resolution so you're fine.

But may I ask what you are you using to convert the videos?

I got it from http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/ . There are several different formats to convert from. I've looked for a good free converter for a while and this one has been working great. It's listed under "Free Video to iPhone Converter 2.1.1.3" at the bottom of the page under the heading "Free video and audio conversion software". If you have a touch and try this converter, please let me know how it works when its actually on the player!

Handbrake. Hands down best DVD Converter

Also keeps the Chapters for the DVD! And Subtitles and other Languages! And if you're like me, you like to watch stuff on TV. Handbrake is perfect for it. Its easy to use and Free!

And if you want to convert between different file formats, Xvid4PSP is the best way to go.

Make sure to first install the Combined Community Codec Pack just incase.

And in case you're on Windows XP, you'll need .NET Framework 3.0.

I'd wait till the Holiday season, To me, it feels like they're going to release another version.

Just a feeling. A Jolly feeling

Yea, I keep hearing different rumors. I've heard Sept. 15, and lots of people think it'll be more towards the end of the year. I guess if I can save some $ and/or get the "new" touch, a few months wait would be worth it.
