I am thinking about upgrading but have some questions:
    1. What is the easiest way to upgrade and retain all my apps/repos in cydia?
    2. Do I upgrade by doing a clean install or the upgrade option?
    3. If I do a clean upgrade/install can I restore my old settings, etc?
    4. Is it worth upgrading? e.g. are the improvements worth it, is there a new version coming out soon

I had a hassle with the 3.0 upgrade so this is why I left it till now.

    thank you.

    1) Download AppBackup (possibly App Backup) for backing up your non-cydia apps. (not totally sure what this does, iTunes does it for you...)
Download AptBackup for backing up your cydia apps.

    2) Upgrade by doing whichever works best for you.

    3) Not a "clean" in that sense, you have to restore from a backup after upgrading, it's the only way AptBackup will work.

    4) Uhh... it's always best to be up to date. Some apps may require you to have 3.1.2 for example. 3.1.2 doesn't have any major improvements otherwise, but still a good idea to upgrade.

ok thanks, just wondering, is there a way to have a custom boot/recover logo?

Also, I have heard issues with blackra1n, what is the best method for the touch 2g?

never mind, I re-flashed it with pwnage tool and worked out how to get custom logos.
