I've done some researching and still have some questions.

    • It seems like jailbreakme is the best way to do this. Am I correct?
    • When I jailbreak, will my current apps and songs/videos/pictures be transfered over?
    • If I decide to un-jailbreak, all I need to do is system restore. How do I do that?
    • Are there any negatives to jailbreaking?

    Thanks for your help.

Use Quickpwn. Make sure everything is synced with iTunes before you run it. You can always restore

Alright. So I sync with iTunes before jailbreaking. How about whenever I want to add songs, etc. Does it work the same way? Just hook up my iPod and sync with iTunes?

    1. Jailbreakme is the easiest way but it's ony for firmware version 1.1.1
    3. You would have to restore, in the worst case force restore.
To restore just use the itunes option.
For force restore, here are the steps:

    1. Have iPod plugged into iTunes. the following steps require iPod to be plugged in.
    2. Hold down the power button and home button at the same time until iPod shuts off(reboot).
    3. Once shut off (and plugged in), only let go of the power button (one on top), and keep holding the home button until ipod shows up in iTunes that it has entered recovery mode.
    4. Once in recovery mode than you only have an option to restore, take that option and follow the rest of the steps given in iTunes.

    Enjoy!!!

How about syncing, how does that work with a jailbroken iPod Touch?

Although, it appears you have a second generation iPod touch

You can't jailbreak those at the moment, you'll have to wait
