Well I am getting the 32gb ipod touch and I have heard the hd video recorder will take up about 1gb/hour of recording. I am going to use it to record a couple movies on tv and some family guy episodes, but i dont necessarily want them in hd if they don't have to be. Will there be a way to record video thats not hd, so i can save some space on my ipod? Thanks if anyone knows.

Don't they start out in non-hd until you use imove to make them hd?

    But here's my solution
Go out and buy those movies and get the family guy seasons.
Then you wont have to worry about those problems
Or go out and get a DVR set

If that is the size or a close estimate, then that sucks for the 8 GB users.

Check out my thread on compressing music to maximize your iDevice's space: http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=310194

Also, I don't plan on keeping more than an hour and a half of video on my iPod at once. The moment I'm done recording and editing with iMovie, its gonna be uploaded to Facebook/YouTube directly from the iPod via WiFi and deleted off my device. This is why I don't need 32 GB, all my videos are gonna be stored online anyway.

I would think that itunes would put a lower res version on it,but now with the higher res display it might make the video bigger.

Well the reason I was asking is because I wanted to record movies and tv shows rather than buying them from itunes. I just wonder if there's a way to make the video files smaller than 3.5gb/hour or whatever the number is.

well what you can do is put them on your computer and then take the file and convert it to another format using anydvd video pro. i use it all the time. it makes my game recordings for xbox go from 1gb to 50Mb with the same quality as i recorded it in and everything.
