So I have the latest firmware(3.13)on my iPod Touch and I was told that I have to wait to jailbreak my iPod Touch because I have the MC model.

I bought a 2 year warranty for my iPod Touch at Best Buy, and I was wondering if the warranty will still be valid if I jailbreaked my iPod.
The employee told us that there will be "no questions asked"; so if I smash my iPod Touch up and come in to get it replaced - it will be impossible for them to know that I ever got it jailbreaked, correct?

No YOU don't because you have the 8 gb version so you can just download the 3.1.2 of the 2g ipod touch and it will restore fine on yours.

So before I go take it back to Best Buy, I download the 3.1.2 and it'll restore my iPod Touch - leaving no trace of it ever being jailbroken?

    YankeesSuck, you are wrong.

If his 3G came with 3.1.3, he can NOT downgrade.

But I thought that the 8 GB could restore with an iPod touch 2g firmware.

    1. I doubt they'll cover it from sever damage like that, cuz most of the time, they'll know it was intentional.

    2. Most of the time, it turns on. They'll just run a system check.

    3. That would be consumer fraud. (i think)

Oh I see. Because I bought the warranty that covers any accident(water damage, getting it run over by a car, etc) but thanks, I'll just leave it as it is - no jailbreaks
