Any active USB port will work. That means the port has to have 5volts DC coming to it. I've charged mine from the USB port on my DirecTV receiver, the USB port on my ethernet harddrive, the USB port on my PC, and the USB port on a generic car USB charger hub.

Mine will NOT charge when hooked into a passive (non-powered) USB hub hooked up to my PC, although iTunes still finds it.
