I know an idea like this has been thrown around before, yet if me and a friend wanted to make an alarm/clock app that allowed you to wake up to music, is there any restrictions to this (playing music from your library as the alarm)? The reason I ask is because the idea seems like such a no-brainer, yet there doesn't seem to be any apps like this in the app store?

I believe you can do this with the 3.0 APIs and it would be allowed. It's not allowed with 2.0, so that's why there's nothing like that in the store at the moment.

Your app can not run in the background and you can not do cron jobs. Meaning the user would have to leave their device on and running your application. This is not really a good idea in the environment we must develop in.
