Let's all hope for it to be approved! And that he gets the 2nd version out quickly with that accelerometer support

awesome! Although apple may not allow support for mods, because it could cause copyright issues(although I've been dying to try the ihalo mod)

They better accept this. Looks like they already denied Cube, so this is at least a good substitute.

actually yes, because quake is open-source, which means anyone is free to take the source code, modify it, and use it for anything they want.

Only ID Tech 1 engine is open source, same as ID Tech 2 (Q2) and ID Tech 3 (Q3A) and soon ID Tech 4 (Doom 3)

Resources of the game and game it self are not, they still in ownership of id and id will have law power to take down app from AppStore for copyright brake (Quake app will be assign as ZOD work). Theres hopefully way to avoid that, release engine only and add resources outside, but this against AppStore VM apps restriction.

So best way will be if id Software allow to do that, they in Devloper Program already so why Zod won't email id Software first ;]
