im thinking about JB my ihpone 3g but i have some questions before i do so.
if i jailbrake will my iphone still be able to download apps from the appstore?
when i want to update a new firmware do i have to un-jailbrake?
-if so will it wipe all my iphones data? numbers, texts, apps?
if i jailbrake would i be able to get apps from the appstore, from another source,(as if i couldnt DL from the appstore)
-if yes, what about apps that cost money?

    EDIT:
also how could AT&T /Apple know if i jailbroke it, because it voids my warrenty, if something malfunctioned how would they find out?

Yes, you'll still be able to download applications from the App Store on a jailbroken iPhone 3G.

Yes, you'll have to unjailbreak to update to a new firmware.

Yes, unless you make a backup, it'll wipe your data.

Obtaining applications illegally is not tolerated on iPodTouchFans, so I won't help you there.

And again, getting applications that cost money for free is not tolerated on iPodTouchFans.

When you want to update all you do is go into itunes and click update not really that hard.... you will lose the jailbreak when you restore though.

If you want to keep all your stuff back up first then restore with the backup i think but it better to do it on a fresh restore.

Yes you will still have the app store and be able to download from it plus you will have cydia where you can download jailbreak apps

No you can not. you get them from the app store!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT talk bout cracked apps here unless you want to be banned

Jailbreaking DOES NOT void your warranty.

Flare, I think it does, if you show up to the Apple store with Cydia & Installer on your iPod/iPhone complaining, I doubt they'd replace it or provide service!! IMO

I know that, that's why I had mentioned it is "reversable". either way, JailBreaking is the way TO GO!!!
