    changing the topic here.

for the next release of the pwnage tool, is it possible to bundle in the fix to enable the iphone apps on the ipod? that way, you update, and voila, the iphone apps are there without having to look for a source with the fix. and since it's standard apple software that should've been enabled to begin with, it makes sense.

You can already have them added to the firmware. You just need to replace a file in the Springboard.app

i kind of knew that. but what exactly is this file and where can i find this file? that's my problem. when installing the fix via the installer, it doesn't exactly give you details on how to download it separately as a file. and for the sake of everyone else who's not willing to do this manually, it would be a good idea.

All you need to do is add one source and install it. There is no need for a fix. I would imagine it would almost take you less time to do that than to go into the springboard.app and replace the files. You basically stop the firmware build process when it asks for your password and then go into the disk image, then open up springboard.app and replace the file inside it.

If you bring your ipod into Apple, and they hook it up, can they see if you modded it somehow? I know you can restore it to the normal 1.1.4...
