i want to start editing and other things with pwnage, but it took me forever to install everyhting on my ipod touch.
is there any way to basically rip the ipsw file from my ipod and backup the apps, so i could load my custom firmware into itunes, and then move my apps back?

Not right now, but just be patient. Let the Pwange Tool get some updates.

also i was digging around in the pwnage app, and i thought hey, if you show package contents, go to resourses and under the specified ipod firmware folder there is a folder labeled core.
inside there is applications var bin and usr folders.
thats how installer.app gets on to your ipod, theoretically couldnt i move all of my backups into that folder to be complied into the firmware?

Even if you put Installer in, you can't use it. It needs the necessary frame works. And installer needs updates fast.
