I think that Apple did something in the upgrade iTunes where you can't transport or play movies on your ipod touch or iphone. I think you have to buy your videos now throw Apple. Now, the DVD's are coming out with a digital copy in it so you can put it in your computer and it will automatically be in itunes. It has happened to me.
Now, I could be wrong but it seems as though our decoding days are over. Well, for the most part. You can copy your movies onto your computer but transferring them over is another story. Hope this helps but if you find a way to do it, let me know.

Or sometimes the movie size is to big or to small. I mean I have a few movies that are about 400x280 in size (Weird I know.) You just have to convert them into 240x320 and then they should work just fine. =)

Let me know how this worked out for you.

Make sure the video codec is H.264.
I Converted Movies and the codec was different, i got the same problem as you do now, i suggest using a diiferent converter or if it has the option, change the codec.
