Put jailbroken Ipod touch 2.2.1 into DFU, Windows says it has malfuncioned

    My touch is dead, it will not respond, when i put it into DFU, windows comes up and says the usb cannot be recognized, what do i do?

    let it charge for an hour and try DFU again

    i'm having the same problem, i have been charging all day and its still screwed up

    That message means the iPod DID NOT go into DFU mode. Try the DFU procedure again but this time hold the home button a little longer.

    Close iTunes, disconnect the USB cable from the iPod, wait 15sec, re-connect. Windows might still be complaining, but iTunes accepts the iPod in DFU mode.

    still getting USB device Not Recongized from Windows, iTunes doing nothing...

    Hold sleep/power and home for 10 seconds, in those 10 secs, i plug the iPod in then release sleep and keep on home, and Windows says it can't recognize the USB Device
