    Hey,

If I update to the new 3.0 on my 1G iPod Touch, and I install my IM application, Beejive, will the PUSH notification work (When I recieve a message)? Or do I have to wait for an update of the Beejive application to support PUSH?

I think you have to wait. Further more you'll have to wait until the full 3.0 is released for that update to happen.

Are you sure, because that is what is stopping me from upgrading. I want the PUSH for my e-mail and IM, but also want to make sure if I upgrade that it works.

no, because beejive is not coded with the 3.0 api's which include push, so it won't work.

How about the e-mail app? Will that work?

Are you serious? That was the primary reason I thought they were using PUSH for. That would compete a little with the BlackBerry e-mail.

Beejive has already posted a thread on their support forums that the push notification for their app will be released once apple's 3.0 firmware goes live.

    MobileMail.app is a background process.

They don't want to clog the push scalable service with mail app requests.
