    Hi people,

    I have a serious problem.
When I tried to update to firmware 3.0 (not from a beta firmware), I got a purple recovery screen.

I just tried to recover my iPod, but with no luck at all. When I try to recover when using the same IPSW (iPod1,1_3.0_7A312g_Restore) that I tried to use to update to 3.0, iTunes loads a lot more. But at the end, I always get a "0xE800005D" error. And at the same time, I still have the purple screen.

Before this, my iPod Touch 1st gen was jailbroken on firmware 2.0.2 or 2.2.1. Can't remember anymore.

    Please help!
    Thanks!

well, Is it a beta? And when I accidentally used a beta, how can i solve this problem then? Because when I don't use this "beta" and use a other firmware, for example 2.2, I got a 1604 error.

    So I have 2 errors
When using beta to recover (0xE800005D)
When using no beta to recover (1604)

DFU restore to a legitimate 3.0 bought from iTunes.

    Don't mess with pirated betas.

Nope, I've found this firmware on the internet somewhere. It's not official bought in iTunes.

I'm now trying the "iPod1,1_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw" firmware. I hope this one will solve the problem.

    I think I solved the problem! =D
A tip for people who have the same problem: Use the correct firmware! And like Shawa already said, you really need a official one. But you don't have to buy one in itunes.
Thanks guys for your support =)

    Here

All you need to do is get the official 3.0 software and go into iTunes hold shift and then press restore and locate the 3.0 official ipsw file

But you don't have to buy one in itunes??? Do you support piracy?? I don't believe that we should be pirating firmwares... neither does this website and forum... go buy the legit version from iTunes...
