I'm going to be performing with my band here soon and I want to do something special for a guitar solo during the song "Purple Haze." My thought was making use of a talk box and "singing" the lyrics while playing power chords. Not the whole verse, just "Purple haze, all in my brain." Thoughts? I don't own one though I have a friend who does and I think he would let me borrow it for the show. Vote yes/no and reply here if you have any other ideas to make a solo special.

Why add to something that is already godly like Purple Haze?

It's a cover lol. I'm trying to add my own spin to it. I'm just not sure what to do.

I'd be careful changing up covers, because for people that know the song (which most will), it throws them off a lot.

Please dont change something as masterful as Purple Haze. If you cant play the whole thing then dont do a cover. It might ruin the song. Make sure whoever plays the guitar is good enough to cover it.
