I got a new laptop and transfered all the music from my desktop to the laptop. I downloaded itunes on the laptop and all the music showed up, the touch was recognized and then it was synced. A few new songs from the laptop made it over to the touch, but the purchased music didn't make it over to the laptop. The filenames of the purchased music and the "purchased on Ridley's ipod" folder is present but the actual files aren't there. Oh yea every one of my playlists are not the same on the touch and laptop. the playlists on the computer are correct, like top 25 most played, which I want to be correct on the touch so much. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks....................Ridley

You cannot transfer music from the iPod to a computer (unless it has been purchased in the Mobile Store) through iTunes.

You can get the music off your iPod by SSHing to private/var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control/Music

In iTunes, select the Advanced tab at the top and Check for Purchases. You can then re-download anything you already purchased.

Really? Email Apple, because I had a similar problem a year or two ago. If you bought it from iTunes, you should be able to claim what is yours.
