I have $272 and still going and have to decide between the following:

    A) A PSP, but is it hackable? Can I add some things through modifying it?

    B) A sweet gaming desktop. I already have the list of parts I need and want. I am around $200-$300 off, but Christmas and upcoming bday will help. I already own a mouse, keyboard, monitor, and harddrive(s)

    Which should I get?
    Which would YOU get?

A sweet gaming computer costs WAY more than $272. That'll just get you the graphics card.

Depends if you want to be able to play games on the go. The current PSP's (PSP 3000 and PSP Go) are not hackable from what I remember, although I've been out of the PSP game for more than a year, so I could be wrong. I know the latest PSP 2000 aren't hackable either, but you may be able to find an older one (refurbished or used). By hacking, you may be able to run some homebrew, customize the theme etc. I'd personally get a gaming desktop, but if you want a portable game console that has good, longer games than an iPod Touch, get a PSP.

PSP's do have better games.. He may not be entertained by the iPod Touch's games, so he's looking for something else.

Which is why he said: "I am around $200-$300 off, but Christmas and upcoming bday will help."

I love how I'm rferred to "he"
Moving on, money isn't the issue here, $500 isn't a problem with Christmas. Probably gonna get PSP from Lockerz and gaming computer on own. Then I will in the end have a laptop, gaming desktop, wii, iPod, and PSP. Maybe not PSP but whatever...

Haha, sorry about that. I'm just used to considering everyone online as a guy. Maybe I should just start calling everyone "it".
