Seems as if hackers have gotten a victory in the battle to take out Sony and PSN. Anon is claiming that they had no part in this, for a change, and others are speculating this is just Sony trying to play victim in there fight on hacking. Sony has permanently shut down PSN and is building a new PSN from scratch, which will take a very very long time. This is just in time for one of there biggest 1st party online games, Socom 4', release Could they change jailbreaking laws for all of us or are they just trying to pick a fight with hackers? "Sony Computer Entertainment of America spokesman Patrick Seybold reiterated Fukuoka's statement, confirming that Sony is still looking into whether credit card or other personal information were taken during the external intrusion" That's unacceptable. If people have got so deep into the PSN that there is even a possibility that card numbers have been stolen users should be informed immediately.
That's Sony's fault, too. There was a report that PS3 coding stored all information in PS3 flash memory or server side, both of which are illegal in the US. IMHO I think Sony is fighting and trying to keep geohot, graf, etc silent because there is something in there that they can't afford to let out.
If credit cards are stolen, Sony better be ready for some massive lawsuits and tons of trouble. The downtime of PSN is beginning to become unacceptable. This is going to end badly, no matter what happens.
This is Sony chance to introduce a new pay playstation network, watch what they come up with will cost, you. Sony will blame it on the hackers, of course Sony will make money on the new network....
oh... if credit cards are stolen that would be bad... (my dads card is in my account but i dont use it (wasnt even supposed to get there...))
Meh. I honestly don't care much; they timed it right around the time that I'm studying for finals, so...
