I'd really like to know how to program or code or whatever.
I'm really a complete noob at this.
I was wondering if someone could recommend a language to begin with.
I'd like to eventually be able to code iPod apps.
Sorry for being such a noob.

Yeah, visual basic is good. Thats actually the one i started out with too.
But if you wanna code for the iPhone, i would recommend getting a Mac and the iPhone SDK from www.developer.apple.com/iphone (but you gotta sign up), and start with that. There's a good website at www.iphonedevcentral.org with GREAT tutorials and also has a forum.

Start with something that isn't too hard like Java and VBS and get to know the fundamentals first. Then proceed to languages such as C/C++ and if you want to code for the iTouch, you'll have to learn Obj C.

Once, you've mastered everything(and I really mean EVERYTHING), you might want to learn Assembly code and Machine language just for the heck of it!

So , I should go with AppleScript to begin with ?
None of that C++ or whatever that seems so popular ?
