There are a lot of college- and company-wifi which you cannot access with an iphone or ipod touch because they do not support 802.1x. I have searched the web for days to find a solution and I am pretty sure that there is not a simple solution for this issue.

So I thought about programming an app to make the ipod touch to support 802.1X.

The only thing I could find is the following site, but I have not enough knowledge about programmings apps for the iphone/ipot touch.

Could somebody who knows this stuff check this site: http://open1x.sourceforge.net/?

I think it could be a possibility to program such an app.

If Appple won't give us the support we have to make our own. I hope that we can fix this problem. Although that site you give is about 1X support, which i am pretty sure is not the same as 1x support(1x being what we are missing)
