My home button is messed up, and rarely registers a press. Its very frustrating, and keeps me from entering DFU mode for pwnage to function correctly.

Is there any way to programmaticaly enter DFU mode?

    Thanks.

Edit-I have tried ziphone and other things. It appears to work although the programs hang. Is it still functioning? They cause pwnage to crash.

No there isn't. Not for 2.x, at least.

Unless you want to restore this is how you'd do it:

    1. Plug in your iPod via USB.
    2. Download QuickPwn from here.
    3. Open QuickPwn.
    4. Go through the steps QuickPwn tells you to do.
    5. When QuickPwn puts your iPod into recovery mode exit out of QuickPwn immediately.
    6. Open iTunes.
    7. Restore your iPod.

Not exactly automatic, which is what he wanted. He needs to be able to enter DFU mode without using the home button, which I don't think is possible.

Yeah, I don't think it's possible either then.

Dang, ziphone had an option for it. Guess things have changed.

    Thanks though guys.

Oh, and if I do get it. Will it still be the same restore screen?
