Anybody know why just some of the icons change? Me and a friend
got a ipod touch, and we are running the same theme. All of my icons
shows up as normal, but my friends one has just a few of them.

    Anybody know why?

I checked and all the subfolders and such is 755 for the themes.

Stigern, you're from Norway, so I suppose you haven't set the language to English. The custom themes are usually made for the English setting.

I use German and just finished renaming all the specific icons so that they show up in the themes instead of the default ones.

You have to rename the icons that are different in your language (those that don't show up correctly in the theme right now).

Go to privat/var/root/Library/Summerboard/Themes. There you'll find folders for all of your themes. In these folders is a folder called "Icons". That's where you have to rename the specific icons.

For example the icon for the calculator is called Calculator.png. In German the calculator is called "Rechner" so I had to rename the icon to Rechner.png.
Change the iconname to the exact name that is shown on the springboard and everything should work fine. Upper and lower case differentiation is very important! If you make a mistake there the default icon will show. For example "ToDoList" has to be exactly that and not "todolist".

Some themes are made for the iPhone and don't have the iPod Touch specific icons such as Music and Videos. Older themes don't have the iTunes icon. I just looked for some other icons (if available) such as Text, iPod or Camera and renamed those to see if they fit visually.

    Good luck!

    Hey!

Im from Sweden, your method works perfect except for the apps that have an Å. Ä or Ö in the name. Weather is called Väder in swedish. When I rename an icon to Väder.png. It becomes V%E4der.png.

    it doesnt work anyway.
same as in Swedish... '音乐.png' ( which means Music.png in Chinese) turns into '%D2%F4%C0%D6.png' when transferred into iPt
