Well i have this all the time on MB models of the Itouch 2nd gen models 8gb's. I have the blobs backed up always for 4.0 and lower. the problem tho is when i update to 4.0.2 just to be up to date or w/e and then go and do the jailbreak via redsn0w b5-5, when it gets to the part where its actually jailbreaking it it will say "Waiting for reboot" but the itouch just stays at a black screen. this happens 98% of the time and i have not a clue why. Not that it NEEDS to get done, im just curious to know the answer.

Okay, try to get your iPod out of DFU. Put the 4.0 on again. Then do redsn0w again, just like on my tutorial(signature) - Then follow exactly redsn0ws DFU steps

If it stays at a black screen, while waiting for reboot, just go out of the room and watch TV for half an hour. If you come back, and it's still not finished, try booting it yourself. (Pressing On Key)

I have a Friend in Switzerland, she did something wrong while entering DFU and it stuck at "waiting to reboot" - Also you should make sure that is really is MB (PB) because getting stuck at that point can be a symptom of MC(PC)

I think he's talking about the power button.
