the ipod touch knows when you download movies without paying for them.

Nope, the Ipod Touch requires paid movies before it works. Sorry you're screwed

I have a similar problem to the OP. I have some concert DVD's (paid for) that I converted to MPEG-4 format. I am also able to load it into the iTunes library and play it in iTunes, but when I try to drag it into my Touch, it says something about not playable on the iPod.

Is there any solution to this?

Re convert it with a different convertor.
