Ok...I got a 2.2 Ipod touch 1st gen jailbroken. I downloaded OpenSSH from Cydia as well as Bossprefs. I also have Winscp on my laptop.

Here's the problem: I enter my IP adress and root and alpine correctly, and even if SSH is turned on in Bossprefs, it doesn't want to log in! I click log in (in Winscp) and it says "server unexpectedly closed network connection". I try to reconnect, but still nothing.

I've seen a couple of threads made about this issue, but none really solved the problem, and none were recent enough so that they could apply to firmware 2.2.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I also turned off both my anti virus and my firewall. Nothing seems to work...My ipod is connected to my laptop. Every thing is fine...

    What should I do?

    Thank You

you must use sftp protocol (at least on cyberduck) and be on port 22

On WinSCP, you must use SCP.

Yes they are on the same network, although they don't have the same ip adress...

    Anyways, I'm using Diskaid now...

But I would prefer to use Winscp so I still want to solve my problem

Make sure it's on port 22 and it has to be on SFTP

    i tried but nothing worked...

    is this the problem???

do you have any other idea?

I'm having the same problem with WinSCP. I've tried messing with every setting on it, changing it from SCP to SFTP or STFU or whatever the hell it is.
